ROY BRINDLEY

Greyhounds, Poker, F1, Novelty betting

Roy worked in London’s greyhound kennels in the late 1980’s taking dogs to classic venues such as Walthamstow, Catford, Wembley and Wimbledon. The vibrant betting rings left him spellbound and while he went on to become a greyhound trainer in his own right (hitting the headlines when landing a treble and an off-course gamble in 1992) both in the UK and USA, a career in ‘gambling’ was always something of an inevitability.

Founding and editing Greyhound Monthly Magazine at the turn of the century, Roy become the face of Ladbrokes Poker and the voice of SKY Sports televised poker in the early 2000’s. He spent a decade travelling the world and playing the game.  In more recent times, Roy has turned his attention to opportunities in niche sports betting. He majors in Formula 1, TV Specials and election markets while also compiling his own stats for Darts and Snooker.

BETTER known as ‘Hobbsy’, Jonathan has been a familiar face on greyhound racing programmes for many years.

A member of the Sky Sports team which, for 15 years, broadcast all the major greyhound competitions including the Greyhound Derby at Wimbledon, he is a regular on Racing Post Greyhound TV and is a Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) Ambassador

Along with Joao De Mata and Roy Brindley, Hobbsy featured on the popular ‘Morning Live’ programmes on ATR on Saturday mornings which featured discussion – and banter – on all sports, plus popular live action from Towcester greyhounds.

A greyhound given to the show, and suitably named Morning Live Len, won races on the channel and his cheerleaders in the studio were often seen waving and urging him on. Bedlam ensued when he won – a few times it should be added!

Football-wise, he’s a Chelsea supporter and season ticket holder and, a cricket lover too, follows Surrey and England. However, a fan all sports, he might throw the odd boxing bet when it comes to providing subscribers with his weekly ‘dogs to follow’!

SCOTT ELLIS

Horse Racing

As a 15-year-old kid, Scott found his passion for live sport and gambling regularly visiting Catford dog track. Scott later spent 30 years in the city, split between the Queen’s stockbrokers Cazenove and more recently in recruitment working with the big banks in Canary Wharf. “So I guess I’m used to looking for trading advantages and recognising individuals with an eye for good gambling opportunities.”

The Cheltenham Festival is an annual highlight for Scott and he hasn’t missed a day in 25 years. He was lucky enough to attend the Superbowl recently and hopefully a trip to Augusta for the Masters is on the cards soon.

“Working With the boys is fantastic and we will continue to look for the best people out there to help us further.”
